In-House Practical Training
The salient features of Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course based on CAR 147 (Basic) conducted by HAL-Pravara Aviation Institute are mentioned below:
The duration of this course will be 03 years (6 semesters) and students will be issued with Certificate of Recognition on successful completion of training course.
This will be a course completion certificate.
Students are free to choose any one of the 03 categories, i.e. B1.1 (Mechanical) and B2 (Avionics) as per the area of interest.
Every semester students will go through the theory as well as practical training within the campus and in HAL factory also.
In this 03 years of course, 30% of the practical training element of entire practical hours will be carried out in DGCA approved CAR-145 Aircraft Maintenance
organization (Air India, Go Air etc.) for both the categories.
Students are required to pass the semester module examinations of this institute along with DGCA modular examination.
Total syllabus for AME is approved by the DGCA & accordingly the training manual is prepared by the Institute for both the stream.
The DGCA conduct modular exam as per the CAR 66 to harmonize with the EASA 66. Total 17 modules have been introduced by the DGCA as per new modular
system,which will vary as per the chosen category. One can appear maximum 4 modules of the same sub-group. The entire exam process is online.
Practical Training At MRO Facilities
As per the DGCA requirements 30% of practical training has to be outsource in actual working environment which includes line and base maintenance on a civil aircraft, since aircraft maintenance engineers needs more and more practical knowledge of Aircraft Parts and its repair and maintenance. For the same the institute has tied up with AI ESL at Mumbai and Nagpur Base apart from Go Air located at Nagpur base for providing the practical training to the students of HPAI.
Our students practically do the training on civil aircraft like Boeing 777, B787, Airbus 320, A310 and covering the maximum practical task as per the agreement with the expertise, skilled and professional aircraft maintenance engineers having the license on the specific aircraft.
